Here we have a photo of the Original Honda Decal fitted to a side panel, they are showing signs of aging and discolouration.

I believe this is a common problem as over time the glue on the back of the sticker turns yellow and can then be seen through the clear part of the sticker.

We are going to get higher quality replacement stickers manufactured for sale which will not suffer this problem.

Any idea when the new decals might be available?  Also, where can I get the Honda decals for the petrol tank?

Hello as far as I know the tank decals were never produced by honda for sale separately, the tank graphics were fitted when the tank was made then lacquered over in the factory. however, I am based in the UK where we have specialist companies that can offer tank re-sprays to the original graphics and colours.

I am not able to offer the sidepanel stickers just yet, I am seeking a supplier at the moment and plan to get the TL250 ones as well. It has taken longer than originally anticipated to get the shop up and running so please bear with me. You can find stickers on ebay as well if you are in need of them now.

Thanks and welcome to the site, I know it's early days and will take time to grow its user base, it relies on google to make the site more visible on searches so hopefully in time there will be more users on here.

regards

Ed

Thank you.  No hurry.  I'm based in the UK also.  Can you recommend a company to respray my tank to the original orange & silver colour?

Don't know what is going on with your decals but here in the States the Honda side cover decals are die cut around the letters and numbers, the TL and the 125 are actually separate decals because of the die cut. You could not buy them separate but after they were applied there is nothing connecting them together like yours. I have pictures of my original side covers with their original decals, pictures of NOS covers with NOS decals on them and a picture of a NOS decal. Cannot see how to add pictures. Either your decals have been replaced at one time or Honda UK sourced the decals. I bought my TL in '96, many parts were still available including the exhaust from American Honda. I even have the optional frame mounted tire pump.

1st picture is a NOS side cover complete with decal purchased late 90's

2nd picture is the original '74 side cover with original decal. You can see the discoloration of the silver paint.

3rd picture is OEM decal with the backing paper pealed back showing the die cut graphic's

4th picture is how the decal was sold
